TARA BREWER, owner/director, has been teaching for more than 20 years throughout the state of Louisiana, including New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) as a member of the musical theatre and dance faculty. A Slidell native, Tara studied dance at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and the University of Southern Mississippi, where she was a member of the Southern Misses dance team. She is also an alumni of the prestigious School at Jacob’s Pillow in Massachusetts where she studied with Chet Walker and Bill Hastings.


Tara has performed with and choreographed for various theatre production companies throughout the greater New Orleans area including The National World War II Museum where she performed as a Victory Belle, as well as a member of the original cast of “Let Freedom Swing,” the Stage Door Canteen's inaugural show. Tara was also an original cast member and dance captain of “Jazz Jazz Jazz” and "Dancing in the Streets," the signature shows at Jazzland Theme Park. Other credits include the New Orleans Saintsations and featured singer in season one of HBO's Treme.


Tara holds a ballet teaching certification through American Ballet Theatre, is a member of Dance Masters of America and Louisiana Association of Dance Masters holding certifications in jazz, tap, modern and ballet as well as a certification in the Progressing Ballet Technique curriculum by Marie Walton-Mahon. Tara is also a recently certified health and life coach through Health Coach Institute and currently working on Module 1 certification through International Dance Teaching Standards.

She is passionate about teaching dance and inspiring young people to be responsible, self-sufficient, brave and bold in their art in order to build confidence and strong character.
